ABOUT ME

Hey there! My name is Nicole Ofiesh, I am 24 years old, and I am a lot of different things. I'm an artist, a traveler, a plant-lover, a singer, a dog mom, among so many others.

Before starting my studies of Graphic Design at Salem State University, I attended the University of Connecticut, where I studied Statistics. Actuarial Science to be exact. I was very involved there, with Greek Life to Women's Rugby to several other campus organizations. UConn was certainly a big part in finding who I am today.

Though I always loved math, art was always something I loved more. The closer I got to finishing my sophomore year, the more I started to panic about crunching numbers for the rest of my life. I realized I had chosen the path I was on based on a paycheck and not passion. I wanted to be more creative. The world will always need more creativity, so who was I to limit myself any longer?

I enrolled as a student at Salem State two days before my junior year started. I found somebody to sign my lease in Connecticut and I signed right up for all of the introductory design courses. It seemed like I was taking a massive leap of faith.

It was a rollercoaster. I essentially learned the entirety of the Graphic Design coursework in two short years, half of which has been completely remote. I spent most of my summer and winter breaks taking courses to catch me up to speed, and I even spend a lot of my free time experimenting with new skills.

Within those two years, I have really started to discover how far I can push my talents. I know that I am not done growing as an artist, nor will I ever be. I look forward to moving through professional world and diving right into all that there is to learn.
